I tried not to make the Heavy difficulty too hard.ġ2: MaSu, Masugn & Stargunner - AnnihilatorĪnnihilator uses all background images from the ten songs it mixes together, as well as an original background. Each difficulty took equally long to create steps for. At seven minutes this is the longest simfile I've made, and probably will make. You can find this song, and many other of Machinae's free productions. In order, the games are: Flimbo's Quest, Bubble Bobble, Arkanoid, Monty on the Run, Commando, and Outrun. The song is Machinae's second cover of a series of Commodore 64 games. Rather than using pictures from my comic, this is the first image I created specifically for a simfile, a stylized picture of a girl on a Dance Dance Revolution platform against the background of a multicolored, chrome-like tunnel. There are some tricky parts in the second half, so you'd probably have to play it a few times to understand it.ġ1: Machinae Supremacy - Sidology Episode 3 - Apex Ultima It should be easier than most 9-footers, though. It's fast, heavy, and there are long series of steps with 4th beat arrows mixed in.Īt the time of creation, this is my hardest simfile, the full version of Masugn's Phreak. This is a song from Masugn, an old band related to Machinae Supremacy. This is an image from one of the first pages in my old comic. The song itself is a personal favourite from the J'n'G soundtrack. It only really plays well on Heavy, while the lesser difficulties were very hard to make steps for. This is one of my hardest simfiles in terms of sheer speed. I don't like this one as much as Aquatic Combat, but it's one of the fastest songs I've made, so it's more fun on Heavy if you like speed.Ġ8: Machinae Supremacy - Death From Above The full soundtrack was officially released by 3DRealms. This is a level song from the PC game Stargunner. It's not very fast, but has some potentially annoying arrows.Ī screenshot from the episode "Terran Assault" in Stargunner. The song is from an old band related to Machinae Supremacy. If you want an easy Light song, this is not it. It was hard to do the Light and Standard steps, because the arrows' overall placement feels more logical on Heavy. It's more chaotic than most of my other songs, but still tries to stay on beat, and synched with the lyrics. I thought it looked too nice not to use for something. This is a hand-drawn fanart for my old comic, contributed by my friend Audric and slightly modifed in Photoshop. I tried to make the Heavy steps, well, stylish. This is a cover of Bomfunk MC's Freestyler, found among Machinae's other free songs. It consists of 20 tiny images of dancing stick figures I drew, jumping around to the beat of the song. To my knowledge, this background "movie" will only display properly in StepMania, not in Dance With Intensity. It was one of the first simfiles I made, and since it had rather poor steps, I remade them from scratch. This strange song is rather easy on the Light difficulty, but becomes pretty fast on Heavy. This is one of my pictures, Hybrid Machinery, which was inspired by this song. It's one of the first I made, so it's not that difficult overall. This is a somewhat odd simfile on Heavy, following the notes of the music closely. As always, I added the song title and artist name to the image. Machinae Supremacy composed and performed the soundtrack, which is available for free on their homepage. It's rather slow, has a clear beat, and it's much easier than my later simfiles.Ġ2: Machinae Supremacy - Jets'N'Guns main themeĪ concept art image from Jets'n'Guns, produced by Rake In Grass Studios. This was one of the first simfiles I made, and it's still my favourite. For example, the files for Phreak would be located in stepmania/songs/dcr/phreak.Ī screenshot from the episode "Aquatic Combat" in Stargunner. They should end up in a subfolder called "dcr", which is the group they belong to. To play these songs in Stepmania, extract the contents of the zip files to the "songs" folder in the Stepmania directory. To play dance games on the PC with a dance mat made for videogame consoles, you usually need an adapter. To play these simfiles, you need a DDR simulator like Stepmania.ĭance Dance Revolution is a game played with your feet - it's mainly found in the arcades, but you can also play at home.
